
An outstanding triumph for Bulgaria at the Balkan Triathlon Championships in Montenegro, Bulgarian athletes won a total of 6 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals this weekend.
Alexander Bozhilov won a silver medal in the Elite/Men category. In Junior and Junior Girls, Super Sprint (2006/08), Bulgaria has a full set of medals, gold for Mirolyuba Nenkova, silver for Mira Georgieva and bronze for Peter Delkov. In the children’s age group 2009-2010, Valentin Iliev won silver and Kristiana Penkova bronze. In the mixed relays, the Bulgarian national team won a bronze medal with Mirolyuba Nenkova, Mira Georgieva, Alexander Bozhilov and Boris Andreev. Two Bulgarian relays took part in the Open Championships and won gold and silver medals. In the Balkan Sprint Triathlon Championship category, divided by age groups, Yulian Andreev, Ivo Iliev and Evgeni Vassilev won gold. In the Aquathlon category for children 2012-2013, gold medal was won by Ivelina Kolisheva and silver by Nia Ivanova. Aquathlon for children up to 2014, silver medal was also won by Anton Tankov.


The motivation and the good preparation demonstrated by the Bulgarian triathlon athletes are a testimony to the growing importance of the country in the world of triathlon.
